Part 3 of the baptismal garment restoration


In order to extend the length of the sleeve in this heirloom christening jacket, the parents agreed to add a slightly gathered colour matching nylon lace.


Once the piece has been gathered , I have pinned it in so that the original lace is left in the sleeve untouched. I have stitched along the original seam with a very fine cotton.


Now, for the new off white satin ribbons to replace the old faded nylon ribbon.


The machine mending of the few ripped seams moves the restoration right along. With some T.L.C. ( tender -love-care) this family keepsake will look great !
