Making of silk heirloom baptism gown

Today, I have started the silk thread embroidery on a brand new design of a white silk dupion heirloom christening gown.I have measured out the panels and the embroidery of all panels is done first.... on one piece of white silk.....

First layer will be left blank - no embroidery. That first silk piece will be gathered.....The above pic shows the second layer embroidery...

Third and fourth layers.... I love the embroidery of the pieces ! They should make a stunning ONE OFF heirloom christening gown... This will be the only gown ever hand made by me, using this particular lace... but that will be tomorrow's posting !

Time to cut each individual piece of the layers into strips....

If you have any questions please email me. Thanks Dana
