Christening jacket restoration

Hand mending of the collar. This gives you a great view of the tiny grab rosettes. Aren't they stunning!

I have made five 10cm openings in the hemline of the jacket - access to remove all the fluff in the folds. Upon cleaning the inside seams I have closed the openings using a very fine cotton .

There was a lot of fluff in all the seam folds. It looks to me , that the jacket has been used several times after the original christening perhaps as an every day garment.

Now, I will be moving onto the final touches of the restoration - changing the satin ribbons, restitching the other damaged seams. Make sure you pop in tomorrow for further pics.
