Unique Christening Gowns - making romper from wedding gown

A couple of weeks ago, I had a pleasure to meet a mother and a daughter who wished for me to make a christening romper , hat and a baptism blanket out of the grandmother's 40 year old wedding gown. I must praise the upkeep of the gown... It is spotless ! The white crape kept up well. Just one small stain ....

The white cotton lace has been removed from the wedding gown's hemline. It will be used to edge the christening blanket.
After separating the back panels,I have folded on in have along the straight grain ( centre seam of the wedding gown)
I have placed my romper pants' pattern on the fold.
