Once the elastic is threaded through the loop ,you need to stitch it and handstitch the opening - just to hold it in place. The topstitching needs to be in straight stitch at the highest width of the stitch. This way the elastic won't over streatch. You can decorate the brand headband as you please. I have opted for the same white satin ribbon bow as per the gown.
